Delving into the Story of an Unwed Mother in Malaysia by Longitudinal Photovoice Methodology

Regardless of the age unwed mother, pregnancy out wedlock is considered as sinful, violation norm and disgrace to family in most Asian countries including Malaysia. Although Malaysian society authority are concerned on this matter, however, people rarely talk about topic public due shame stigma. Owing that, little known perspectives marginalized group their life experiences. The shared data were used explore experiences an mother three different times. then analyzed by using House-Tree-Person (HTP) analysis. study found that felt shelter home unwelcome, lost dignity self esteem. Consequently, it impacted her later she more lonely unable regain back self-esteem longing for. can be benefited well sympathecically acknowledge mother. Hence, will increase awareness understanding towards mothers reduce stigma them.
